Hello! I hope you are all having a good day. I just wanted to come on here and give you all a few home remedies for some common everyday illnesses. I understand that most of you do not have access to all of the great things on my island so I wanted to tweak some of the recipes so that they are more easy to find.
Cough:
· Honey tea is a great way to get rid of a nasty cough, the best way to make this is adding honey to warm water before brewing your tea.
· Ginger is also a good way to eliminate a dry cough.
· It is always a good idea to make sure that you are consuming lots of fluids to keep from dehydration.
· Steam may also help in many cases.
Cuts:
· There are many different spices and household items that when applied to the skin can help increase the speed of healing as well as prevent infections. These include:
o Turmeric
o Garlic
o Honey
o Limestone powder
o Aloe Vera
o Coconut oil
o Onion
Headaches:
· When you have a headache it is always important to drink lot of water because many headaches are caused by dehydration.
· Magnesium can reduce headaches.
· Limit the amount of alcohol you drink.
· SLEEP, SLEEP, SLEEP
· Essential oils such as peppermint and lavender can be very helpful when you have a headache.
· Cold compresses can reduce migraine pain.
